A tradition started long ago in my family, which has been passed down from generation to generation. A tradition, which involves family gathering around the table for a warm, home-cooked meal.
Yep, mom would throw a pizza pie in the oven and my brothers and I would look forward to slices from The Red Baron, Home Run Inn (best in Chicago, best deep dish is, of course, Lou’s), Tombstone and DiGiorno.
This isn’t to say my mom didn’t cook for us, she was a great cook! Sunday night was just everyone’s night off, where we could relax before the beginning of the school and work week. Now that I am living on my own, I have decided to carry on the tradition! Tonight Richard and I made our own homemade, healthier version of the tradition.
Viola! I give you green pepper, mushroom and low-fat mozzarella cheese pizza! It was delicious, and I am usually not a green pepper fan. I am making changes slowly but surely.
I am gearing up for tomorrow’s workout back in the gym. I wrote out a plan with Richard, which I will share tomorrow. I am sticking to the basics as far as strength training, and then spicing up my cardio with the workouts I am getting from Self Magazine.
Oh, and I promise to work on my pictures! For mouth-watering food pictures check out Slow Like Honey and Bakerella! I need to figure out what camera they use!
